Boga Lake is a natural hill lake in Ruma upazila of Bandarban, sitting at roughly 380 m (about 1,250 ft) above sea level and covering around 15 acres. Ringed on three sides by bamboo-covered ridges, with a Bawm village on its shore, it is the usual overnight base for the Keokradong trek. Bawm legend says the lake formed when a village sank after its people killed a dragon.

Dry-season skies are clear, the Ruma-Boga jeep track is passable, nights are cool rather than cold, and the water is at its clearest.
Weather caution
Monsoon (Jun-Sep) brings landslides on the Ruma-Boga track and swollen stream crossings; the administration often suspends tourist movement, and leeches are everywhere. Dense fog on Dec-Jan mornings slows the hill roads.

Getting there from Dhaka
Overnight bus from Dhaka to Bandarban (7-8 h), then bus or chander gari jeep to Ruma Bazar (48 km, 2-3 h); register at the army camp, hire the mandatory guide, and take a jeep the final 17 km (about 1 h) or trek 5-6 h. Nobody is allowed to leave Ruma for the lake after 4 pm.
