Srimangal in Moulvibazar is Bangladesh's tea capital: about 43% of the upazila is under tea, with some 40 estates draping the low hills in green. The gardens begin at the edge of town by the 'Cha Konya' sculpture, with Lawachara National Park, Madhabpur Lake and Baikka Beel nearby, and the town is the home of seven-layer tea. Around 2,400 mm of rain a year keeps the bushes green year-round.

Getting there from Dhaka
Trains from Dhaka's Kamalapur (Parabat at 6:20 am, Jayantika, Kalni, Upaban) reach Srimangal station in about 4.5-5 h; Sylhet-bound buses from Fakirapool or Sayedabad cover the roughly 200 km in 4-5 h. The gardens are a 10-minute CNG ride from the station.
