Sada Pathor is the bed of white stones where the Dhalai river crosses from Meghalaya into Bholaganj, Companiganj, on the northern edge of Sylhet district. Cold, clear hill water runs over the stones with the green wall of the Khasi hills behind, beside the country's largest stone-quarry zone and the old Bholaganj-Chhatak ropeway. Access is by engine trawler from the 10 No. ghat, and monsoon is when the site is at its best.

Cherrapunji-side rain fills the Dhalai to the brim from June to October, so clear water runs over the white stones with cloud and waterfalls on the hills behind; in the dry months the river drops so far you can walk the bed and the spectacle is gone.
Weather caution
Flash floods from Meghalaya come down the Dhalai with little warning: Sada Pathor was closed in May-June 2024 and again in June 2026 when hill runoff submerged the floating shops. Currents are strong in monsoon, so non-swimmers should stay out of deep water; check upstream rain and the Companiganj administration's notices before going.

Getting there from Dhaka
Bus, train or flight from Dhaka to Sylhet (6-7 h by road), then a BRTC or local bus, leguna or CNG from Ambarkhana to Bholaganj's 10 No. ghat (about 35 km, 1.5 h) and an engine trawler 15-20 min to the white stones.
