Tetulia, the northernmost upazila of Bangladesh, is the one place in the country from which Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest peak roughly 150 km away, can be seen on clear autumn mornings. The classic vantage point is the century-old Tetulia Dak Bungalow on a high bank of the Mahananda river at the India border, though the Banglabandha zero point, the riverbank and the flat tea gardens around town all work. The coordinate is the Dak Bungalow as plotted on a Bangla travel-guide map (26.5032, 88.3440); OSM and Wikipedia have no point for the bungalow itself, so treat it as a close estimate (the Wikipedia upazila centre is 2.5 km south at 26.4817, 88.3495).

Post-monsoon air is at its clearest from October to mid-November: cloud-free dawns give the sharpest view of the snow peak, before winter fog sets in.
Weather caution
The view is never guaranteed: cloud or haze can hide the peak even in season, and dense fog blankets the north from December to January; keep a spare morning or two and be at the riverbank before sunrise.

Getting there from Dhaka
Hanif, Nabil and Ena run overnight buses from Dhaka (Gabtoli/Kallyanpur) direct to Tetulia or Panchagarh in 10–12 hours; or take the Panchagarh Express, Ekota or Drutojan train from Kamalapur to Panchagarh (about 11 hours), then a local bus or CNG for the 40–45 km to Tetulia.
